Journey to the West is a Chinese novel composed of one-hundred chapters loosely divided into four sections. The plot concerns Buddhist monk Tang Sanzang’s quest to bring Buddhist scriptures from India to China. Early in the narrative, the Emperor Taizong sends the monk Tang Sanzang on a pilgrimage to Leiyin Temple in India. Along the way, he is joined by three disciples: Sun Wukong, Zhu Bajie, and Sha Wujing. Together they face many challenges and adventures as they travel westward.

The Monkey King is a character in Journey to the West. His name is Sun Wukong and he is one of Tang Sanzang’s disciples. He is a monkey born from a stone who acquires supernatural powers through Taoist practices. After rebelling against heaven and being imprisoned under a mountain by the Buddha, he later accompanies Tang Sanzang on his journey.El Rey Mono es un personaje de Journey to the West.
